The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) is launching the fourth edition of Get Animated!, a series of free animation screenings and activities from October 26 to November 7, 2010, in cities across Canada. An internationally renowned producer of auteur animation, the NFB created Get Animated! as its contribution to International Animation Day, October 28.
Get Animated! will feature new releases from the NFB’s Oscar-winning animation studios. Visit the NFB website www.films.nfb.ca/get-animated/ for more information. GFOMM is keeping the film line up for the NFB Shorts for Adults a mystery. A late night event full of surprises and entertainment.
Host: Gareth Lind
Born in 1964 in Pennsylvania, Gareth Lind moved to Toronto in 1967. His political and social satire strip, Weltschmerz, ran in Toronto's Eye Weekly from 1997 to 2007. A new comic strip, entitled Footprint in Mouth, appears in the environmental journal Alternatives. Lind runs a graphic design firm in Guelph, Ontario, where he lives with his wife and daughter.
